Edmonton
The most recent Edmonton Survey on Drug Use and Health showed that more than %15 aged 12 and older were in need of some type of substance abuse treatment, but less than %4 of people actually received any help. Of those people, more than half attended a self-help group and %1.5 of people in Edmonton went to outpatient treatment. Only %1.1 million people enrolled in a residential rehabilitation facility near or around Edmonton.
So why did more than %19 million substance abusers not get help? Those reasons can vary. It may have to do with finances or bed availability. Some go to jail or prison and don't get any treatment. Others have a negative viewpoint about treatment because they've tried it before unsuccessfully. Most of them just aren't ready to receive any help at all.
